the perfect house.....
It was the four months of bliss - looking out at the water on the beach in Perdido Key while Andrew was at training just before moving to Misawa. It was Heaven!!! We could still swim and walk the beach with not another soul around. The beach was ours since it was October. Homeschooling and just playing on the beach - fun fun!!
I mourned when Ivan took our favorite place - our bit of heaven - from afar!! I mourned it in Misawa but when we drove by to look where it was gone (they had to tear down the bulding that was partially left) there where no words that could describe the anguish, the anger, the heart ache for those people that LIVED in perdido key and didn't just own vacation houses.
Watching the kids walk back towards me was broke my heart.

You can tell that Perdido Key has been kind of "left behind" in the building the old up. They are just tearing it down to make the "new" bigger stronger more money maker condo's. But this house was special it had a window that you could see for miles in it and a loft where the kids could just look out and see the sun rise!
Living in this hotel four in one room, with only one bathroom really makes you think how lucky we are that we are able to get ourselves out of this situation and this is only temporary. We still see people who don't have a home to really live in and are living out of their van or car or a house that is not livable. It is a sad sight to see on one side all the money makers out there building condo's and selling to the tourists and then people who live here just trying to make an honest buck.
Makes my troubles seem so small. Makes me glad that I can be somewhere where I can maybe make a dent in someone's life!

Very well spoken! MoM
till you pull up and you see the sand dunes gone and the blank space where the building was you really don't believe it. It also makes you see that all the volunteer work that you did for two years working so hard on something could have been used to maybe help somewhere else with something like a cause with an orginzation that helped people during the hurricanes. Makes me wonder more about my priorities!!
makes me know the power of GOD!!
